Breathwork and Sharing Circles
What is a breathwork and sharing circle?
In simple terms, it is a space to come and practice breathwork followed by an opportunity to connect with others. These sessions will take place online via Zoom, so that you can be in the experience from the comfort of your own home. It will consist of a 45-60 minute breathwork journey with optional space for sharing your experience and what you’re taking away. The breathwork journey will be guided by Kat throughout along with music. Each session will have a theme or provide an opportunity to set an intention for yourself at the beginning. These sessions will run monthly, with the next session taking place 18:00 UK time on Sunday 7th September.
What is breathwork?
We take on average 22,000 breaths a day - but how many of those breaths are we consciously aware of?
Throughout our day we encounter all sorts of interactions and experiences that can impact how we feel - excitement, joy, sadness, panic - and our breath pattern can change depending on our emotional state. Ever notice how your breath feels shallow in your chest when you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed?
Conscious connected breathwork (CCB) is the practice of using the breath as a tool to help reset your breathing pattern and has been shown to have a host of benefits that positively impact wellbeing (more below). CCB uses an intentional, deep, circular breathing pattern, with no pauses between the inhale or exhale, over an extended time period.
Our emotions are just energy in motion in the body, yet sometimes that energy (emotion) gets trapped or blocked. Engaging in CCB can help to move any stagnant or blocked energy in the body, and can enable you to access heightened states of awareness, self-discovery, relaxation and healing that can support you to align your mind, body & spirit.

Given the sessions will be online, here are some tips on getting the most out of your experience:
Uninterrupted space where you won’t be disturbed
A good set of headphones or speaker (as this will make it easier for you to hear the guidance and music played throughout)
A comfy position to lay down and/or sit in. This could be on your bed, a yoga mat or nice rug/carpet with cushions and blankets to make your experience as comfortable as possible. It is recommended not to prop your head up, but to try to keep the head as flat as possible to not obstruct the airway.
A working webcam/phone camera that you can position in a way to see you during the breathwork journey
A water bottle
An eye mask (optional)
A journal or pen & pen to write anything down about your experience after the session
Openness and curiosity to meet your breath and any emotions that may come up during the session
Try not to eat a heavy meal up to 1 hour before the event starts. This is a conscious practice and therefore a sober practice
